Sunpox

In the utean Third Era, thousands of slaves were dragged to Ganu, as the Segai invasion army retreated their land. Elves, Dwarves, Giants, and Bugits were the common victims, but a few Humans also suffered this fate.
The slaves spent the days of capture working in and around the villages, building defense lines for the war, and doing any job that the Segai masters ordered them - at least what they could understand about it.
The fifth year of working under the scorching sun affected the non-beastman in a new way. Red spots spread through their body, with symptoms such as high fever and maddening pain. 3-5 days after the first spots of the pox, the slaves died. The Segaii didn't even want to heal them.
The first epidemic was closer to the frontline, in the desert region. Because exchanging slaves as trading goods was common, the illness soon spread through the savanna and reached Vrikdarok.
The Segai masters got annoyed and didn't like letting go of their workforce so easily. Soon the problem reached a new level, when the domestic slaves accidentally infected a few of the Beastman as well. Sunpox is only infectious by touch, and the Segaii and Bugits somewhat don't respond to the illness because of their fur - until they get them with more 'closer' contact.
The Segai chieftains didn't care much about the slaves but were furious because of their Hunters (warriors). Most tribes banned the keeping of the other, non-beastman races as slaves, to prevent further deaths and epidemics. The living prisoners were killed or banished to the wilderness. A few of them made it to the frontline and easily got cured by the healers of the AUN.
Still, slavery is an everyday practice in Ganu, but with a few exceptions, all the slaves are Bugits or Segaii.
