Summer Camp 2026 PREP
It’s hard to believe that it's June already! I was so busy with the lore book, new maps, and my Life OS project that I hardly felt the springtime at all.
After many years of overachieving and maximalism, last year I decided that I would keep the pressure if the Summer Camp event was at a minimum, so I continue with my little tradition, I proudly announce:
Sometimes less is more, and I am confident that I will do much more in that month than 8 new articles. Still, I want fun and less competition, and some new ideas for Nehalenor (again).
Also, I hope for a lot of interesting new readings from my favorite creators here, too.
Well, I wish fun for all, and let’s be creative <3
Homework #1
As I rolled a 4, I tried my best to complete this assignment.
1 - Homepage & Primer
I worked hard on my landing page since I started Evera's documentation on World Anvil. Every year, I added or modified something around Summer Camp. No matter what, it still felt so flat. So I did the one thing I never thought of before: I asked for help with that.
Still a W.I.P. - already better :)
2 - Maps & Timelines
Nehalenor's timeline needs a few updates, which will be included in the Lore Book and nicely synchronised with Utea's timeline, so that I can work on the events now. Maps, especially Nehalenor's regional map sections, are one of my new tasks. I am working on 5 new sectional maps every other week. I mass-update them when I have more time. So: new, hand-drawn maps on the way!
3 - Update World Meta
Well, Evera's Meta was awfully outdated. I was genuinely surprised that I looked over that for such a long time. I created mini-metas for Ganu and Nehalenor in the last few years (and maybe other regions and continents as well). Now, having realised the problem, I revised all the paragraphs, rewrote a lot, translated, and hit the save button. Evera's Meta is finally done; I just needed 8 years to complete it.
4 - New articles
Love in Nehalenor
Homework #2
This week, I rolled 2. I hope I can go back to the Week 1 assignments for a bit.
1- All the things I haven't told yet
My worldbuilding was always somewhat grandiose as I built my worlds from outside to inside, starting with the cosmos, deities, and creation. This is a lot of work, and I can't recommend it for everybody. It needs serious dedication, time, and energy. I chose this method because it gave me strong foundations, basic dogmas about the new world, rules, and a frame to follow and fill with the details.
I started uploading the bits and pieces of Evera around 2019, but the first ideas landed on paper in 2006. I just realised as I wrote this: my world, Evera, the shiniest piece of my creative life, is 20 years old now. (Maybe I'll eat a piece of cake later and celebrate.)
Running back and forth between the seven corners of Evera, working on just one realm or region, is a great way to fill in all the details and tiny plot holes I missed before. Also, every Summer Camp prompt gives me new ideas and perspectives that I might miss otherwise. That's why I always recommend this event to my friends when they start a worldbuilding project.
This year, going back to Nehalenor was an easy choice. The setting book about the region is around 70%, I want to work on it, AND write to Summer Camp. I'm sure I will find new ideas and points of view. Where is the fun? Well, I just love to create, write, and expand my world.
2- All the things I have
I had already written around 200 A4 pages about Nehalenor, Narmiron elves, Bugits, Fairies, and Dargons...
I'm still missing some parts of the big picture, like Foxwoods' special or interesting places, lots of NPCs, I like more tales, legends, gossip, and events to add to the Vale. I'm happy with how I made the Valley of Nehalenor so lively and intertwined, a breathing setting, maybe the first time in my life, I feel I have the right to be proud of my hard work.
Growth in Nehalenor
Homework #3
This week, I rolled 2. I will go back to the previous assignments too...
1-Hyperfocus or throw-backs
Nowadays, I'm usually open about my autism (as I'm way too old to care about strangers' opinions). Being neurodivergent is both my superpower and my curse. I can work for long periods on one task, without becoming bored - then I get a new idea, and can't work on the previous thing until I fully circle the new interest.
The Get Things Done system made it possible to keep up with my ongoing projects, and sometimes I can work on like three different projects on a given day. Gamifying helps a lot, too! I have a detailed - and expandable - list of small steps and tasks, so when I switch between projects, I always know where I left off before.
When it comes to the current TTRPG campaign on Evera, I usually have 3-5 tasks for preparing our biweekly sessions. Book of Nehalenor has 5-10 to-do/next actions per week, which include writing, translating, and marketing tasks. Besides these two, I have like 10 other active projects, like a half-finished book, a videogame, an embroidery, a junk journal, a first draft of a romantasy, etc.
When I have the time, I pick a project, look for the next set of tasks, choose either the hardest or the most sympathetic, depending on my energy and focus levels, and just work on it until it's done. Good planning makes everything easier, at least for me.
2-Hello, Skyrim, my old friend :)
Besides our TTRPG sessions (Relics of Creation - Evera, and Powepuff Goblins), I started a new Skyrim gameplay a few weeks ago. I found some new -at least new to me- gems at the Library: The Raven Spell by Luanne G. Smith and The Witch’s Daughter by Paula Brackston. Instantly added all of the other books on my TBR list, which is already so long… (Mental note: I need like three more ebooks for our family vacation…)
Homework #4
1-To-dos and don'ts
Since I would like to stay within the topic of my book, I would mainly like to write about geographical places, interesting people, historical events, stories, and legends. Experience has shown me that I can write about pretty much anything, so it shouldn't come as a big surprise. The Narmiron culture is already so well-developed that any attempt to touch it could seriously overwhelm the system. Perhaps I could write about the Beastman language in more detail...
2-Friend-of-a-Friend
I started a wonderful partnership with Nilami earlier this year. Another friend joined us in recent months. This trio has helped me keep up with the tasks, and I am happy to body double for the others when the need arises. We look out for each other in creative life, as well as in training and learning.
I am extremely grateful to them if you are reading this: thank you, girls!
3-FEZEN 2026 + "Night of museums"
Last weekend was pretty eventful. I attended the opening day of the FEZEN music festival with my sister again. Listening to Sonata Arctica live, sipping spritz made from elderberry and apple cider, meeting old faces and new people: these are experiences that happen once a year. Plus, both of our birthdays are in the summer, so this is kind of a weirdly timed birthday present for the two exhausted moms.
Exactly the next day, the "Night of Museums" was held on the day of the equinox. At this time, most museums are open until dawn, and you can visit them with a single ticket. Since MIL surprised us with a ticket each, and the little one doesn't need any yet, we were able to return to the reopened Museum of Transportation with my family. This visit was such an important milestone because my husband and I were here just before the temporary closure - I was 7 months pregnant at the time. I'm quite emotional about this.

Good luck Lia!!! I look forward to seeing what you write :D
Thank you very much, I wish you all the best. :)
