Adrelas - Scavengers
The Scavengers are Nehalenor's eyes and ears (and enforcers).
Its members are Narmiron elves who left the land of Nehalenor, knowing they could never return. Some do it out of conviction, some choose this dangerous path for personal reasons. Sometimes someone violates the community's customs so deeply that he has to leave his home. For them, this service means a kind of penance. There are few, but there are Narmiron youths who find it difficult to fit into the strict hierarchy and bounded everyday life. For them, Adrelas means an adventure of a lifetime, and at the same time, that the world opens up for them. For those free souls, leaving home is a small price for excitement.
Only once or twice every hundred years does the Shonla grant permission for a lifetime veteran to return to the lands of Nehalenor. They can't move freely either, because they can't leave Forestdeep. They cannot even mention what they saw or what happened beyond the Valley. According to Shonla, it would harm the youth if the old people of Adrelas started telling stories about their adventures and experiences.
The members of Adrelas are primarily loyal to Shonla. They can choose a spouse, or start a family - in fact, agents with a permanent station are encouraged to do so, to integrate better in their new home. But duty and task are the priority in every minute of their lives. The Scavenger, who neglects his duty to indulge in everyday pleasures, is condemned to be killed by his companions - usually, the deed was done by one who replaces him in his duty.
