The Republic of Nivias

History of Nivias

A republic found in the northern territories of Evadere. Spanning all of the frozen, the Republic of Nivias is one of the three titan nations found on the continent. It is ruled by The Council of Four and has trading ties with The Kingdom of Batrya, The Hornbreaker Dwarves and The Orebrand Dwarves. The country is known for its harsh landscape that only allows for the production of limited cattle, barley, oat, hay, and potatoes. The main source of trading power comes from the nation's endless supply of precious gems and stones which are used to trade with the surrounding countries.

THE CAPITOL CITY

Found in the south of the frozen tundra and looming high above the massive Lake of the Four, Fridaria is the prosperous capitol of Nivias.

THE COUNCIL OF FOUR

The Council of Four rules the northern lands of Nivias with iron fists. Made up of The Guardmaster, The Mouthpiece, The Eye, and The Shield, the fate and future of Nivias lies in the whims of a select few. These positions were created by the founders of the republic (Khahmen Rhiannon, Golvisk Rumesk, Rethri Icende, and Zernair Utsubo) who filled the positions of The Guardmaster, The Shield, The Mouthpiece, and The Eye respectively.

THE ETERNAL STORM

In the center of the nation there looms the Eternal Storm—a perpetual blizzard that cover miles upon miles. It is slowly expanding—consuming towns and villages indiscriminately. Refugees are forced to abandon their homes and find new shelter (which is often in Fridaria). The Council of Four has failed to respond adequately to the situation and thousands die a year from lack of shelter. The storm began during the Second Age of Chaos after the Fall of Fournemouth. Legend has it that the storm originates from Fournmouth and is some form of dark wizardry—casted by none other than Tararin Mindweaver. Perhaps if one could find the source of this legendary magic, the storm could be dispelled.

THE INLULANIAN GOLIATHS: Nivias is relatively peaceful with the other inhabitants of Evadere—except The Inululanian Goliaths. The tensions between the two people groups extend back into the first age of chaos directly after The Ascension of the Ancients. The animosity erupted into violence once before (in the Great War of the North) which sent Nivias into the Second Age of Chaos. The goliaths remain secluded in the northern mountains and Nivias struggles to make any kind of contact, let alone diplomatic relations.
