The War of the Long winter {158-155}

The Conflict

Prelude

Across the border from the verianberg empire the the Sultans order of magic was the most powerful magical organisation in the world. in verainberg the only magical power were the seers who could see possible features. the Emperor of verianberg at the time Wilhelm 3rd wanted his own magical order. so he turned to his adopted brother Vlad von drak a vampire. the two had grown up together and were the closes of friends but at the age of 30 Wilhelm ascended the throne from his father. this drove the two apart and left vlad bitter. he left for his Provence of walchaindorf to studies his magical arts. however with his time in court he had attracted  the vampires in the hallsberg court. they were pulled towards his cunning and witty personally along with his cold judgmental personalty. women were drawn to his looks and his personalty. vampires were born with the ability to control the powers of death and death magic. At the orders of his emperor he formed the imperial magic organisation. it drew it ranks from both men and 'old' races main being other vampires. over the next few years the magic order gained power and was able to raise small armys. vlad grew sour with time because of his brother refused to see him instead wishing to spend more time in his own court in walchendorf. he saw however that he could take power. in his mind he had as much a claim to the throne as his brother. using his political power he raised an army in walchindorf and secured the loyalty of the lords of  the regency of magara as under Wilhelm father they had suffered massive taxes and political interference . he also ventured to The shadow realm and sought an audience with Arcarox high regent of the ghouls he told him if he helped his he would revoke his penanace. the high regent agreed and marched his army in support of vlad. he only had to do one more thing. using his powers he turned the nation of verianberg warm summer into a dark winter. sensing something was wrong Wilhelm ordered troops to walchiendorf to investigate

The Engagement

the troops of The verianberg imperial army under the command of general Ivan zallzinberg traveled to walchiendorf. he expected to confront regular army but instead they found an army of ghouls and spirits. zallzinberg terrified by what he saw turned and ran but he and his army were chanced down and of the 3000 men only one returned to tell there emperor what had happened. Wilhelm was openly engage at the disaster. he ordered his imperial army to invade walchiendorf. however secetly he was devastated for even though he hadn't seen his brother for 2 year he still loved vlad. The verianberg imperial army arrived on the boarder of walchiendorf. they found a massive army of ghouls accompanied by men under the banner of walcheindorf and another army under the banner of magara. the two army's clashed in the first battle of the war. vlads magical army using it magic tore holes in the ordered lines of solider. the verianberg army was able to destroy the magaran section of the army but in the face of countless attack they were forced back.
A defensive line was set up and was able to hold the ghoulish and walcheindorf magical army. A second smaller army was able to invade magara and it capital telta was taken. however the winter didn't end and soon people began to starve. if the situation could get worse the setrechan army invaded the frontier kingdom the only time during The setrchan frontier kingdom war. the only time the the principality of setercha would invaded the frontier land. unable to stem the tide the south part of the frontier kingdom was occupied.
The frankish Invasion seeing there enemy's weakness a frankish army of one hundred thousand strong invaded. the only troops in the area were the small szlski army. its commander Edward ballzinski gathered what forces he could massing an army of regulars and millita which numbered around 60000 over the next year while the war in the east was being fought a series of small rear guard action battles were being fought to the west on the frankish invading route. ballzinski was forced to make his stand at the frozen roon river. the battle lasted 4 day and nights ending with the loss of 60000 men. the frankish army however wasn't broken this forced the new army that was being made to bee sent west.
Vlads Empire after 6 mouths of grinding war fare vlad declared the 1st vampiric empire he created a massive palace in walchindorf for his new court. he reined his offensive the tired and frozen verianberg army. many solider expired there hands sticking to there muskets. Vlad lead his army in person smashing through the defenses facing him. and was soon marched on the capital when his allies in magara was invaded by the untied tsardom. knowing that if he didn't turn to face this foe soundly defeat the untied tsardom in a 2 mouth long campaign. the united tsardoms were about to attack again the The twin sultanates of Castilian and Abria threatened invasion. this was the break the verianbergs needed. they defeat the frankish army and then tunred all there forces on the vampic empire
The fall of Vlad and liberation of the frontier kingdom the vearinberg army moved eastwards and defeat the small nucleus of regular no magical army of walchiendorf. out raged vlad turned his ghoulish army west and fought back. he suffered his first defeats at the battles of ileck and then at the shelt river. vlad then sent his army of magical people to face them but it was also was defeated even though if inflicted sever losses. with no where to run Vlad took his ghoul army and charged head on into the advance verianberg army. in the battle he was killed and with his death the winter ended and the ghouls Burt to dust ending the war. Wilhelm 3rd and Stjepan keroi march south and attacked king Andrew and his son. Andrew succeeded at the battle of merancov hill and at the town of zerberg. Andrews son crown prince andrew however saw nothing but disaster as his army was destroyed and most defected. this more or less ended the war.

Outcome

the banning of all magical sensitive people apart form seers. vampires in the hallsberg court were all expelled a famie due to the lack of food killed millions.
