the northern badlands
the northern most region of the northern continent bordered south by The united tsardoms it constantly fights them for independence. it is also the most technological backwards of the nations of men.
Structure
at the top there is the wolf king the leader of the wolf born. he rules over it is believed hundreds of little lords who control army. the men he rules over however dont just fight the southerners but fight each other for land.
Culture
the wolf kin worship wolves and son almost every house hold has a wolf living with them as a pet.
many of the clans have there own tartan.
a families blood is very important. families cannot be disinherited from there lands. this was seen when Bruce donrachei left Alexander Moor 1st army during the calmoor war and he and 2000 of his warrior went onto became the kingmakers of the tsardoms. mean while his two year old son was named lord despite the fact his father was dissloyal.
cachtrchtir other wise known as the forgein land is the western part of the badlands. it is the part of the mainland which has seen the most sverkan and norgan settelment. the second largest city in the badlands is in cachtrchtir.

Assets
the best asset for the northlands are its men. the soldiers of the north are hardy and fearless. even though they have ranged weapons like muskets they have very little of them wishing instead to use broad swords.
the rivers of the land allow for rich farm land as well as large amounts of trade.
History
the time before kings- those who ventured far north to the lands of snow and wolves where a group of people who's origins are not clear. But what we do know is that they where lead by a man by the name of Lughlagh. it was lughlagh who when in a freezing forest saw the wolf god Ur'khan. the wolf lead him and his people to a safe place where they where safe from harm. this story is unlikly to be true for thousands migrated to those lands lead by many leaders but the first man to declare him self king was lughlagh. his clan becmae the MacLughlagh
the men that ventured to the land which would one day become the north lands cut a bloody path through the land slaughtering creaters that got in there way. they tryed to keep there inpendence but even before The war of Men and the 'Old' races the tsar tried to absored it into his territory. but the wolf born fought them back and started the tradition of raids from both sides for the next 2000+ years. even though it was normally united under the wolf king the lords constantly fought among each other and giant the king. however when invaders from the northern isle and the united tsardoms they band together and fight them.
the unification- before there was a kingdom the people who would become known as the children of ur'khan create little petty kingdom. by 4950YBCW the elven chroniclers say there where no less that 100 of these petty kingdoms but it was likely that there where more. but these people like other humans where quick to make towns and build castles in there new homes (however these castles where little more than wooden forts. they where also raiders however. the southern clans went into the steppe lands killing the local old races and carrying off livestock and slaves. in the west there islemen built longships with wolf head in praise of there wolf god. it was during the regin of the western kings Christian 2nd and co-king olaf 1st that a northern came into contact with the people of the wolf. sitric christiansson married a daughter of a isleman and her father supplied him with troops.
raiding and warfare adn the begining of the regin of clan makinnan-after the events in the isle known as the harrowing wolf kin longships began raiding west and in 4900YBCW a man by the name of Ri mac Bethand (king macbeth) sailed with a great spring army. the elven chroniclers put this great spring army at around 4000. this great army occupied the entire eastern part of the island called norga. but after the battle of averfjord macbeth was killed by men loyal to king bjorn 1st and co-king sigurd 1st . after macbeths death however one young clan chief on the banks of a great river dreamed of uniting his people. his name was Aed chief of clan makinnan (born 4920YBCW). his father had severed in the army with ri macbeth and Aed wanted himself to be a king so he made plans. at 23 he already had 4 children with his wife. he married his 4 daughter to the heirs of other chiefs. he also called on his clan allies and was able to get himself made king by his supporters in 4895YBCW. knowing most of his appoints where in the west he marched his army of 3000 men west. but he over estimated his position and many of the eastern chiefs marched down from there mountain stronghold joining with the eastern lowland lords and marching to make Aed seat. Aed himself was defeat and killed at the battle of lantrose. his pregnant wife fled south down river till she came to the city of tsartovo. in 4893YBCW she gave birth to a son whom she names Constantín mac Aed Makinnan (born 4893YBCW).
after the death of king Constantín mac Aed Makinnan (born 4893YBCW died 4834YBCW) his son Donnchadh mac Constantín makinnan (4863YBCW died 4803YBCW) over saw the migration of thousands to the east.
after donnachadh died in 4803YBCW at the age of 60 his son David Mac donnachadh makinnan 1st (born 4842YBCW) was crowned king he had seen his younger brother Douglas (born 4840YBCW died 4810YBCW) decided to strengthen his boarder to the east. he granted large amounts of land to the eastern lords so that they could build larger armies and more bases to launch more attacks.
the men of the east and the kingdom of the isle- the western isle of what is know wolf country had been a mixing pot of cultures. it was said when men first came to the isle they where greated by a huminod race who they simply named the the Gall (the forginers). they made up an important part of king macbeths army and it was one of these isle men that married Sitric Chrstiansson and gave him troops to assirt his claim on the kingship of the northern isle kingdom. over time sverkans and norgans mixe with the local wolfkin population and a heidbird people where born. they founded many clans inculding clan Ralfsson, clan ferson clan fergusson of wyre, clan Macdoanld, clan macdonald of levithans bay, clan macharold, clan macgodred. in 1873YBCW lord somerled macdonald (born 1894YBCW) rose up with the support of all the isle in the aim of gaining there independence. he was ultimatly unsucseful and was forced into exile. his clan would live in exile in the northenr isle for some time till his grandson king Amlaíb donaldsson macdonald (born 1827YBCW) rose up in in 1812YBCW. the king of the wolf kin was but a child the 10 year old Raibeart Macallan 2nd.
the rise of clan mar and the conquest of the isle- in 1748YBCW Raibeart macallan 2nd died 74. despite losing the isle he was considered the greatest king of clan macallan. however his steward Ruadrí mar (born 1789YBCW) annonced it to the realm and was there at the formal conroantion of the kings some john who was crowned the wolf king.
the death of clan mar and the rule of clan aaron-
the dancing of the wolves end of the line of Aaron- after the death of king James Aaron 2nd in 1390YBCW after 49 years of rule. both his sons duncan (the eldest) and stewart (the youngest) had died in battle and there sons where ambitious young warriors. james eldest son had three sons, Macbeth lerd of strathlanden (born 1414), James lerd of Tighnabruach (born 1411YBCW) and Andrew lerd of kildar (born 1410YBCW) by rights the throne was ment to pass to macbeth but James second son's where also in the picture. the eldest of these men Euan the nominal lerd of crathtarin had been raised as a hostage in Telta and know had the name Ivan was a powerful contender for the throne. he was supported by his wifes family and by his three brothers who had married the daughters of the most powerful clans in the west.
the end of the aaeronsson and the war of the lords convestion- when alsiter aeron died without issue his clan was unable to take control of the kingdom. civil unresst broke out across the country with clan fueds breaking out.
in 260YBCW william Boyd (a vetren of the war of the duel alliance's having served as a general in the frankish army) called the lords convesntion to the city. he didnt think many of the clans would come but with the invasion of tsar roman's army all of the clan cheif came to the capital.
Demography and Population
the northlands are sparely populated. people live in the small towns and villages however the largest amount of people live in the capital (the city of wolfs). people also live in small fishing villages in the west.
Military
there is no standing army for the entirety of the northlands instead lords and the king call up men from there local lands. most of these soliders are armed with swords some have muzzle loading rifle. there cavalry rival the royal Cossack guards of the tsar.
these small army are experienced because of the local conflicts between the lords.
Religion
the religion of the northlands is different to the rest of the continent. unlike the religions of the tsardoms, The twin sultanates of Castilian and Abria, The kingdom of Frank and the verianberg empire who follow the same god but in different ways. the only exeption to this is the regency of magara who worship the elven gods. the badlands worship the wolf god. they believe the wolf is the greatest of all beast and the sigile of the wolf king is a black wolf with a scared eye. they believe the wolf has a warriors spirit.
Agriculture & Industry
farming and fishing are massively important for the survival of the state was the winters are harsh. the grass lands provide for cattle and sheep and the wheat fields provide bread for the people.
