Second child and eldest daughter of the de Luna family. Unlike her siblings, she is calm and detached, and highly religious. Her relationship with the rest of her family, and very much in particular with Mercedes, has turned cold after she became an adherent to the current false Phoenix heresy which is at the heart of the rebellion. Mercedes publicly gave her an ear-clap and refused to talk to her again after Esperanza refused to show up at her wedding.
