Petal Day Choosing

The 13th of Eleasias- Highsun holds a very special celebration. It is a day of second chances a day of choosing. Jaahiites spend the week prior decorating and preparing the town for Petal Day of Choosing. Children of Little Petals Orphanage are celebrated and each child that is ready to participate is provided with an apprenticeship.

Preparation is a deal. We want to ensure each child feels special not only on this day, but days before and days after the Petal Day of Choosing. It provides them the opportunity to be able to get into job/careers that would normally not be obtainable to them without a parent.
Starting from the beginning of the year we have Guild representation from all, but the Undercrown guilds, the Shields and Crown's Shields, along with the various schools from Zaegora, Academy of Magics visiting Little Petals to allow the children to get to know the Guilds, schools, and guards and also to get to know mentors within the different organizations.
When the day arrives, the children visit different areas as the choose and enjoy the free food and activities around Jaahil. Some children visit the place they want to become an apprentice others wait until they recieve the formal invite from the organization. Each child is equipped with a stone and it lights up when an offer of an apprenticeship is given. Each child has at least two organizations that provide them with a formal offer.
It is a lovely time seeing these children blossom and for the adults to brighten with joy when teaching the children. It warms my soul and I am thankful we were able to start this.

Preparations

Each district of Jaahil decorates to the theme they have choosen. Sometimes the theme is around the organizations that are housed in the district and other times they branch out. One year the entire town was bee themed as they wanted to promote the profession of Jaahil Beekeeper. The entire town is working, but also apart of the large celebration.
