Belly of the Beast

The Belly of the Beast a ramshackle industrial furance created from the unused thruster engines of several ships. It burns hot enough to smelt ship wreckages and seperate the raw materials out to be used for manufacturing.

It is also seen as a death trap, as there are very few safeties to keep people from getting into the furnance. The Scrappers also take the job of dragging wrecks into the furnance to be smelted, paid per kilo of material retreived from their wreckages.

Reeling in the chunk of wayship was like dragging an anvil through a garden hose, but getting it to fit was only half the battle. Setting off the furnace always made me nervous, gotta wait in line for an hour, hope that no one messes with your haul.

Then it's my turn to cash in, gotta press this massive button to watch everything in the furnance explode into flames. You can feel the heat even standing behind the window, guess its gotta be hot to keep everyone moving and getting paid.

An Economic Hotspot

The Belly of the Beast is located on the bottom of the Junkberg Bermuda, adjacent to the Scrapyard. The makeshift facility is comprised of three sections: the Hall, the Dynamo, and the Cashier.

The Hall is the entryway for scrap to be towed into the Dynamo, the wide corridor is big enough to allow sections of wreckage to be carried in, though a scrapper is responsible for towing the wreckage into the awaiting Dynamo.

The Dynamo is the actual furance, a massive chamber lined with the engines of hundreds of vessels, which are wired to fire off with the press of a button. The generated heat is enough to melt most shipwrecks into base materials.

After smelting in the Dynamo, the resulting materials are weighed out and valued in the Cashier, where a Scrapper will go to retreive their payment.
