Banner Politics

Vanthric Haimarchy

Perspective

The Haimarchy views the universe through a lens of longevity. It is the result of many thousands of years of history, and remembers most of it—when it sees folly in other Banners, it may take it on itself to right their wrongs.

The Haimarchy values isolation and independance.

Somnacy of Sol
The Vanthric Haimarchy considers the Somnacy of Sol to be a noble group—a fledgeling actor on the great stage, with noble intent. Their short lives make them chaotic, and the Haimarchy fears that eventually they may regress into their old ways of turmoil and consumption. When leaving Tower Spoke and passing through Via Lactea, they left behind magics, techs, and sages to help train the Somnacy.
Andromeda Syndicate
The Vanthric Haimarchy is neutral towards the Syndicate. It admires the Syndicate's caution with the Meta, but has voiced concerns that they are too removed from it.
ValuSelu Pact
Free Planet Federation
The Vanthric Haimarchy considers the Federation to be a reckless threat, an agent of chaos with no values other than expansion and fortune.
Houses Divided

Though largely unified against outside forces, the internal forces of the young Haimarchy threatens to pull it apart before it can even fully establish. While most who left with the Haimarchy did so because they believed in it, the Haimarchy still has many detractors within it—those who wish to return to the ways of the Procession and reclaim Jhoutai from the pact.

Perspective

When a member of the Somnacy looks to the stars, it's from the perspective of a missionary-monk, a pilgrim whose only purpose is to thrive, and demonstrate through their faith of self—honest work, honest words, big families, and warm meals—that honest work always begets a better tomorrow.

The Somnacy values land, immigration, and the ability to proselytize new members.

Vanthric Haimarchy
The Somnacy of Sol is grateful for the Haimarchy's aid in their establishment, and is on good terms with them for trade and immigration. They see the Haimarchy as an older sibling, but have not forgotten the cautions written into the stones of Jhoutai—the Verin go through seasons, and a winter is coming.
Andromeda Syndicate
The Somnacy is on bad terms with the Syndicate, but works alongside them on purely business, standoffish terms, trading terraformation for much needed resources. They do not approve of the Syndicate's dealings with the Pact.
ValuSelu Pact
The Somnacy is largely hostile towards the Pact, and is wary of them someday deciding that they want to colonize Sol again.
Free Planet Federation
Though the Somnacy has few borders with the Federation, they've quickly learned that they are at complete odds with the volatile, resource-hungery federation.

Federation of Free Planets

Perspective

The Federation most values resources.

Vanthric Haimarchy
For all of their talk of love and peace, the Haimarchy sure seems hellbent in claiming the soil of every world, the light of every star. Nobody sees what a threat they are, but we do.
Somnacy of Sol
The Federation views the Somnacy is a childish pipe dream indulging itself in nostalgia as it gets fat on Syndicate trade. Their beliefs are unwelcome on Federation worlds.
Andromeda Syndicate
Culturally and economically, the Federation and Syndicate are in competition over much of the same real-estate. Until now, it's managed to avoid bloodshed, but there's battles brewing in their neighboring outer colonies, and their competitions for new worlds are often ruthless.
ValuSelu Pact
The Federation has a hostile but largely indirect relationship with the Pact, whose politics they view as totalitarian and constricting.

Perspective

The Syndicate most values the recovery of new techs from Outer Worlds.

Vanthric Haimarchy
The syndicate sympathizes with and admires the careful efforts of the Haimarchy to cultivate strong world and strong people, but sees their views and methods as stifling. Progress must not be stopped, but it must be measured.
Somnacy of Sol
Though their history is uneasy, their trade is strong. The Somnacy is a critical part of the terraformation ecosystem of the triad.
ValuSelu Pact
The Syndicate is very wary of the Pact, knowing that ultimately they want control of every world and may eventually make large scale efforts to realize this goal.
Free Planet Federation
The relationship between the Federation and the Syndicate is a love-hate sibling rivalry between the more socialistic Syndicate and anarcho-capitalist Federation. Economics and culture are in constant trade, while the heads of each Banner work to cut each other off from future fortunes.

Vanthric Haimarchy
The Pact is antagonistic towards the Haimarchy, and considers it inevitable that they and the Haimarchy will someday be driven to war by their bad history and conflicting ideals. For this reason, they are incredibly defensive of any space which borders Haimarchy control, and frequently sends scouts to explore their reach.
Somnacy of Sol
The Pact does not consider the Somnacy to be a big war threat, but the Somnacy is largely Ah'hei Antagonistic, which is in direct opposition to the Pact's status quo.
Andromeda Syndicate
The Pact and Syndicate have many trade agreements. Their borders do not touch, but it is presumed that the syndicate engages in proxy wars with the Pact through the Somnacy and Federation.
Free Planet Federation
The Pact and Federation are in an economic war with each other, and a cultural one, both of which the Federation is winning. As more and more Pact members are seduced by the freedoms of the Federation.
