Session 19 - Sahuagin Troubles

General Summary

Days pass by and the Obsidian Hive's network of spies are able to report that Ryphol's minions have found the evidence that was planted, and the Grimtol dwarves are now planning to put up more defenses in response to the attack on their caravan. The network loses track of Ryphol as he seemed to have switched up his routine suddenly, losing him somewhere in the Rocking Sea. He shows up later that day near Konigsberg snatching 2 horses before flying on towards the mountains.
The party set to head out for the lizardfolk stronghold of Deadvalley using the folding boat that Kylar picked up. After a couple days of traversing the swamp and riding down quietly to the sea they stopped short of the stronghold so they could approach in a more stealthy manner. While disassembling the boat several sahaugin emerged from the sea demanding they give up their valuables. After a brief dialog its determined that they too are under Ryphol's rule and are simply grabbing what loot they can to satiate the dragon. Combat ensues and more sahaugin emerge with some of the spell casters bolstering the larger fish-like humanoids. Fireballs fly out incinerating several of them at once, IG-88 cooks one alive in its breastplate armor, Yog takes on several of them at once, Khajit and others manage to take out the casters, and Kylar manages to knock out one of the larger foes. The tabaxi has to cast tongues in order for the group to interrogate their captive.
They learn of an underwater city of Nephri where more Sahaugin live and pay tribute to Ryphol weekly. Most of it comes from sunken treasure and raids on land dwellers. He was not aware of the location of Ryphol's lair either. Soon the group heard movement in the distance and fled after eliminating the last witness and planting more emblems of Grimtol while Kinan casts invisibility on himself and stays put. He reports back that a sizable group of lizardfolk came upon the scene, taking some of the emblems of Grimtol, spreading out searching before heading back north. Kinan then headed back to meet up with the rest of the group and they made a camp for the night. Yog used his rust bag of tricks to have 2 bears and a lion help keep a perimeter watch of their location. Within the first watch they hear the distinct growling of one of the bears, a sign that something is coming.
