The Investitt

The investitt is a ceremony held within the Pelago Islands, when the previous Marquis or Marquess dies, to have the next Marquis or Marquess chosen.

THE SILENT BELL

The silent bell hangs in the tower of the Curia Pavillon building in Pi-Chu. A great platinum bell patterned with birds.

THE CURIA PAVILLON

The pavillon stands on the central square within Pi-Chu. It
This Pavillon is the flexible architectural open space with a domed roof, that served as a place of law, finances and ceremonies. It is a permanent structure that is able to change its form and function, with not much great effort.

THE CEREMONY
Never organised until after the customary 10 days and 10 nights of grieving for the previous Marquis or Marquess dying - a selected Marquis Locum Tenens (temporary Marquis is selected by officials of Pi-Chu for that short period of time).
The Investitt is planned for the following month to the day.
The custom is for all living descendents of the recently deceased Marquis or Marquess to stand inside The Curia Pavillon, along with four officals of the city of Pi-Chu and a resprescentive from each of the islands of the Pelago Islands.
The Marquis Locum Tenens stands central in the building and soes through the greetings to each person present. Each of the family members then will state their intent for ruling the Pelago Islands. Then each of them takes turns to walks slowly (like a bride down an aisle) towards the Silent Bell - this part of the cermemony is call the Cyezeni.
The Silent Bell rings as the chosen new Marquis or marquess steps underneath the bell's tower.
If not selected a person returns to their given position.

"It was unexpected and unheard of for The Silent Bell to remain silent throughout all the Cyezeni. No one was chosen. The Triplets had remained calm and respectful until the end. Then began The Tatlo War."
~ Cleric Xeya Dorval of the Goddess Romane, from Pical, 1436 AG ~
