Khashin Baidar

(a.k.a. "Apparition")

Khashin is the youngest individual in Erlyse's history to have been imbued with powers from a Ley Focus. As shown by history, but often a detail not really known, this will keep him from aging further, and may become a hindrance to him later in life.

Powers

Khashin is able to swap between his physical form and an ethereal one that is composed of spiritual energy. While in his ethereal form, he can:

• Interact with solid objects at his discretion. Unless he has intention on manipulating an item, he will simply pass through it (or it will pass through him). Thus, this allows him to travel through walls, or even the surface of the planet unhindered, and makes combating him a difficult task for anyone without empowered abilities.
• Technically fly, though there is a maximum altitude he can attain above whatever surface he is flying over, which limits his freedom in this manner. His "ceiling" is just a mere 50 feet, but that is enough to perform plenty of maneuvering.
• Manipulate temperatures of the air his ethereal form occupies, allowing him to freeze objects (or people) like liquid nitrogen, or catch them on fire.
• "Possess" an individual, allowing him to view their memories, or influence their decisions to minor extent. He cannot control any being he has inhabited, but he can create compulsions that are difficult to resist.
• Influence magnetic fields in his relative vicinity, or within objects he interacts with. This effect can be as strong as he decides to make it, yet this comes at a serious handicap cost. When putting more effort into the effect, it creates a bleed effect of his powers to remain persistent, preventing him from returning to his full physical form, as sections of his body will remain trapped in the ethereal form. This handicap is not permanent, and does not impact his survival, but it takes an extremely long time for any parts of his body that have undergone this handicap to return to normal, taking many months for even the smallest section of himself trapped in ethereal form to regain its physical integrity.
• Effectively combat Phantoms. Most R.I.S.E. heroes, and all unpowered people, are incapable of dealing with a Phantom under most circumstances, but Khashin is able to fight them as if he were one of them, despite his energies being different. This makes him the go to hero when an incident with a Phantom occurs.

Other abilities:

• Khashin can sense the presence of souls in his nearby surroundings and can differentiate one from another even under duress. He can also even fine tune this sense to see all living things around him, not just sentient beings, though this requires actual concentration.
• He has an innate ability to sense the intentions and demeanor of other sapient beings, which allows him to avoid being betrayed or caught in traps by ill meaning individuals, as well as root out saboteurs, traitors, and criminals from a populace. This ability is still something he is learning how to use, as the sensations he gets from it he hasn't quite learned how to process yet.
