Lissella's Plunge

Lissella's Plunge is an enormous chasm located in the mountains of Casane. It stretches into the earth so deep that even magical lights cannot reveal the bottom. Sometimes, near the mouth of the chasm, strange wisps of light gather.   There was a metal pillar here once. The demon Lissella raised it to command the goblins of the Pelden Meadows from a seat of power, but it was ultimately destroyed.   Lissella created her metal pillar in the Shrouded Age.   The goblins and testri of the Pelden Meadows had failed to contend with the vampiric Coven. They called upon any power who would answer to give them the strength to defend their homeland. Lissella came to them and offered to defeat the vampires if they summoned her avatar. She built a tower of metal and stone in the center of the meadows.   The goblins and testrini troupes gathered to form an army under her command. They marched toward the north with their new demon avatar. While they were campaigning against the Coven, a devil lord seized control of the tower. When news arrived of the opportunistic devil, Lissella turned her forces south to reclaim her tower.   When the devil refused to leave, Lissella brought her true form to the Overworld and destroyed the tower. Nothing was left besides a chasm that went all the way to The Pit. In response, the angels of the Firstborn --the eldest of the Immortals-- came to the Overworld and stripped Lissella of her Immortal essence and permanently slew her. They cast her remains into the chasm and left her army to disband on their own. The testri returned to their forest enclaves, but the goblins remained and built new settlements in the hills. Some of them moved into the cities nearby, such as Osenard.
