Their enchanting songs and history of vengeful attacks on travelers have given them a reputation of being nothing more than winged bandits among many other species. Despite this, harpies maintain a loving and artistic society not often seen outside of their mountain homes.
Harpies are usually from elevated places like hills and mountains, but some make their homes in the large forests. They tend to be quite private and try to build settlements away from the rest of the other species. Some do like to live in large cities, as high up in the settlement as possible.
Harpies are known for their musical abilities, which they use to communicate with others. Harpies sing to each other about what is happening within their group. Each song has its own meaning, depending on the situation. For example, one harpy might sing about the meal he's made in order to invite the other harpies to come eat with him. Another might sing about how their mate is missing so that the other harpies can help search for her.
