    Birth of Dionysus
    Celestial

After Hera found out that Zeus was having an affair with the mortal woman, Semele, she decided to plant the idea in her head that her lover was just lying about being Zeus.   Semele demanded that Zeus show her his divine form, but the sheer power of his true form turned her to ash, leaving nothing behind but their unborn child.   Zeus cut open his thigh, and put his unborn child in there to develop. After a month, Zeus removed the newborn baby from his leg, and gave the baby Dionysus to Hermes to raise away from Olympus and the wrath of Hera.

    The Sorrow of Demeter
    Disaster / Destruction

After Hades took Persephone down to the Underworld, her mother Demeter became terribly depressed.   The sadness that Demeter felt caused most plant life to wither and die, especially in tougher climates, such as the Northwest. The Authenian republic managed to survive this disaster because less of their plant life died thanks to their lands' fertility.   The kingdoms of the Northwest were not so luck, collapsing within a year.   Hades allowed Persephone to return to Demeter for six months of the year, ending this first winter. As plant life began to return, the Venatorian Empire was born.
