Lake Eirie
The only major lake the Tremont plateau Lake Eirie is large and it´s depths are mostly unexplored, but its clear waters sees a fair amount of fishing by passing airships in the summer months.
Lake Eirie drains through the Barbed Run to the South-West as it snakes it´s way through the Hoornwoods and past Dunn´s Peak before it makes it´s way down the plateau and into the Heartlands.
Geography
The deep, clear waters of Lake Eirie create one of few openings in the otherwise dense Hoornwoods that creep close to the lake shore. The lake, tho large, has very few islands, only along the northern shore does a few small stony outcroppings break the surface of the water.
Few have explored the lakes waters but some of the sages of Candence suspect that lake is feed by several underground springs, possibly connected to the massive network of volcanic tunnels that spann the Tremont plateau.
Fauna & Flora
While nothing compared to the riches of the southern oceans, Lake Eirie is never the less a good source of food for the few people that make their way across the Hoornwoods.
Fishing is good during the summer months and the promise of fresh water and prey attracts many creatures of the forest to it´s shores.
Many rumors tells of monsters living in the depths of the lake but little has been proven, generally travel around the lake is done with caution as both the forest and lake are seen as highly dangerous.
