Tolohi

A tribe of Firbolgs living on the northern coasts of Ezzuth. A peaceful group of semi-nomadic fisherfolk and foragers, the Tolohi are also known for upkeeping the traditions of a powerful druidic order of shapeshifters living close to nature and the animal world.   In secret, the Tolohi were, until recently, the keepers of the Emerald Simulacrum of Jal-Kador, sealed deep within a temple in one of their sacred groves. The temple was raided by adventurers employed by the South Wind Trading Company and the Mask was stolen and taken to the company's outpost in Tourelle.   The apprentice druid on duty at the time, Dealan-Dé, was ordered to seek penance by tracking the stolen simulacrum down and retrieving it, leading her on a long voyage to Valderia and beyond...   Some weeks after Dealan's departure, the Tolohi were attacked by agents of the Ascalean Empire in search of the Mask, and, although the Tolohi village remained untouched, their temple was destroyed and many of the senior and junior members of the druidic order were killed for resisting.
