Irkara
Geography
Located in the northern parts of Acrech, Irkara is varied in it environments. Its western parts are dominated by the Aeir Mountains, where several mining towns are located.
On the eastern edge of the Aeir Mountains lies Colwyn, the capital of the region. Farmlands spread out around the city.
Half a days travel by foot north of Colwyn lies the Forest of Whispers. This forest is surrounded by myths and rumours.
The eastern border is defined by the Boreal Tributary.
The southern parts, which borders Renara, are the major agricultural area in the region. Here, most of the food is produced and transported north.
Localized Phenomena
The Forest of Whispers, in the northern reaches are surrounded in myths and legends. While not punishable, it is taboo to enter the forest.
History
A former province of the Silician Empire, Irkarians suffered under the ruler of the Empire. Much as a result of religious discrimination, with most Irkarians worshipping Saoirse, the Free-spirited primarily while the Empire's pateron deity is Verity, the Truth-seeker. Eventually, the population rose up and expelled the Empire. Ever since then, a strong anti-Silician has permitted the region.
