The Aether

The Aether is the domain of the Eternals. It is infinite in all respects and under their complete creative control.

Geography:

The form, dimensions, timelines, and natural laws within the Aether are all highly flexible. Whatever an Eternal wills, is, except when Eternals have conflicting wills. Separate rooms, environments, and whole realms can be manifested with a thought. Likewise, multiple timelines, linear or nonlinear, can be manifested with a thought.

Access and Travel:

Eternals are able to move about and interact with anything in the Aether, at their leisure, only limited by the will of other Eternals. In such cases, an Eternal may cordon or protect their own creations from the interference of other Eternals.

Residents:

When creating life, an Eternal also creates a realm for this life to exist in. There are, however, times when an Eternal wishes to reveal things to his creations by bringing them into the Aether. These are known as 'residents'.
Aether residents do not have the same liberties and freedoms as the Eternals. They are restricted to areas which the Eternal who created them has allowed. Residents are also restricted in terms of what they may do within the Aether.

Links and Energy

In terms of the The Realspace Project, specific rules for the transference of energy have been established. The Aether is an infinite source of energy, some of which may be accessed within Realspace via links.
A link to the Aether is simply a metaphysical energy transfer conduit that taps into the inexhaustible source of energy and makes some of it available to the citizens of Realspace. The most stable and pervasive link is that which constantly recharges the unsaturated portions of the Lifestream. This energy is raw and uncoded, meaning it can be used in nearly any application.
Other links to the Aether have been established within Realspace by the Eternals. Only lifeforms or mechanisms with a link to the Aether may draw energy from the Aether directly. These links are finite in throughput and vary individually. New links can only be made directly from existing links, through a process known as Link Inheritance. This can only create new links of equal or lesser strength than the parent.
