It feels like whenever we take two steps forward, we're pushed three steps back – today we managed to decrypt some of the letter, and we discovered that the Three Clawed Eye were in some kind of protracted battle with the Rising Dawn – also that they will move some weapons to a secondary location in a month, perhaps they are planning for something?
We also completed our bargain with Wilcock – discovering that we could potentially find Aymon to the north of Catun. We found ourselves in a predicament; as Blackrock, where Ailtu's friend was headed, was to the south. It will be up to us to decide in which direction we head – I believe that Aymon's goals are measured in a time period of months, so we may have the time, but we may not.
We set about our business for the day – but we were interrupted by screams and the sounds of battle. I rushed towards the sound of a noise, and found the Rising Dawn killing people, dragging them out of their homes.
I would not let this stand.
I did not want to let this stand.
But I was no match for them – for all my training and experience, I was nearly put down by a group of murderers with ballistics. I am very, very fortunate to have had my friends nearby.
To think that such unceremonious killing could stay unchallenged in the heart of civilisation agonises me, and yet there was nothing I could do.
I must grow stronger. These past few months have been difficult – I have felt confused and lost, but now, at least, I know that I still need to grow before I can affect change.
