Session 27: Wilcock & Sons
The pickpocket didn't make it that far. Luyra was a poor, starving girl and we managed to get some useful information out of her - that a merchant named the Worm - or the Wyrm, which is it? Made their home in Wilcock and Sons. The same Wilcock who refered to me as "cattle" -- but that seems like a lifetime ago. I confess, I wasn't excited to make his acquaintance once more, but if he can stop whatever these dark individuals have planned with those black gems... His shop, however, had been picked clean. We returned to the Stinging Lover, a brothel within the town, as we had also recieved the information that he had been seeing one of the girls there. Although it was... mightily awkward in some aspects, the workers there were very helpful. We were able to be directed to Blackheath, a shady part of the north-eastern area of the city where we might find someone linked to Wilcock, a merchant by the name of Bryce Benton, potentially connected to "The Hook" - a Tork Wrightson. We devised a "sting" that went... interestingly, with Iza quickly assaulted and the rest of us being forced to step in. The leader of these brigands was able to be questioned, and we learnt of a place named the Hag and Mouse where Tork Wrightson could be located. Understanding that we had made quite a lot of noise already, and that resting might give our enemies a chance to move, we decided to go to the Hag and Mouse - outside the city walls in the Warrens, near the catacombs - and confront Tork in seeking answers. It has not gone well. Iza attempted to discreetly cast a spell, and they saw us. These people are angry. They have lost their homes to magic - they have become murderers in the name of stopping what happened to them from ever happening again. I understand their rage, but we are doing this to save people. I don't want to hurt anyone. And I believe that this crowd - that these people - are better than a mob we'd have to fight. Clan-spirit be with us.
