Things that are different for this Campaign

This campaign takes place in the homebrew world of Eorðe. This is not Fearun and as such there are quite a few things that are different.

Things that are different in this world

Playable races

The playable races in this world are limited to the following. Though they may share a similar name with the base dnd race they do have some differences. The ability score improvements will be the same but the abilities and lore behind the race will be different.   Humans,   Coastal Dwarves   Snow Dwarves   Grey Dwarves   Forest Elves (Wood Elf),   Mountain Elves   Sea Elves ,   Aavvir (Aarakora),   Loxodon ,   Leontari (Homebrew)   Corvir (Kenku),   Ahkelivir (Homebrew),   Anthosaurs (Lizardmen),   Soul Forged (War Forged)   Oodvir (Homebrew)

Backgrounds and class restrictions

While all of the base classes are available to all races, some of the archetypes are restricted to certain races or to certain locations. These can be found here Class restrictions.

There are no monolithic cultures

Not all Dwarves are not the same. Each city or region has their own culture. The same goes for every race. While there may be some general similarities these is no absolute rule that a certain race has to act a certain way. This even goes for intelligent monsters. So a Snow dwarf from Sozarheim might be an aggressive viking but one living in Clearwater could be a meek librarian.

Death and undeath

Death and the undead are viewed very differently depending on the location. The Alterians view death as final due to their avoidance of magic. In Clearwater while resurrection still exists the majority of the population cannot afford it. Undead within these countries are seen as abominations and killed on sight. Vestonia on the other hand sees death as a roadblock to be passed. Resurrection is much more common and though the people may shirk away, undead are common place as slaves.

Magic Items and Firearms

Magic items can be bought in Vestonia and sometimes in Clearwater. Firearms can be purchased in Alteria. Check the stores articles to see what is available.

Crafting

Crafting will generally need a quest line to complete. If a character has the resources they can hire others to find the ingredients they might need but getting the recipes themselves will generally need a quest.

Character advancement and rules alterations

Characters will start at level 1   Leveling will be done through milestones   Ability Scores - you may use either point buy or the standard array   New Characters due to death - New characters start at the same level as everyone.   Long/Short Rest Periods - The party may only take one long rest every 24 hours.   Magic item identification requires the identify spell, experimentation, or both. Just touching the item during a short rest is not sufficient (DMG 136)

Use of technology for the game

A campaign will be created on dndbeyond to allow for character creation on the site. Whether on not you end up using dndbeyond for your character you will need to give me your character sheet so it can be uploaded to the site so I have access to it.
