Chapter 2: Rivenlock

Having joined the Southern Ghosts , the party traveled to Rivenlock to find a way to challenge the crocodile posse.
Soon after arriving in Rivenlock things did not go as planned. The group found that the crocs had most of heir influece in the merchant district across the river. After investigating ad talking with some of the merchants they found that the crocs were running a protection racket. They had a few bumps along the way as Knuckles threatened one of the shopkeepers and defecated on his floor. They ended the night by Meeting the owner of Bloodbath and Beyond Weapon's Shop , Eodrin . He agreed to help the group by using his employees and men at arms to help defend the other shops until the group could get rid of the crocs. They then scheduled a meeting for the next night to talk and try and convince the other merchants to join their plan.
Before heading off to bed the group tried to find more information on the crocs by pretending to be part of their group. Knuckles McGruff got a tattoo of what he thought to be the symbol they wear and then went into a tavern and picked fights with people while proclaiming himself to be part of the gang. This got the gangs attention and when he left the bar he was ambushed in an alley by two assassins. Luckily for McGruff, Bosh and Diaz were following him and were able to keep him from dying. After the fight Knuckles ran off into the night.
Bosh and Diaz inspected the body of one of the dead assassins. They found the tattoo of a chained snake. Bosh recalled this symbol to be that of a minor cult of Loki the god of trickery. They decided to sleep on this information and see if Ka'unaha knew anything else in the morning.
The next day they attended frog mass in the chapel of The Holy Church of the Swamp . Ka'uhane led the service and most of the Aouli were inspired.
After the service they decided to head to the church of Loki to ask about the symbol. When they arrived they were met with an annoying priest. They learned that while the normal church likes to play harmless pranks and tricks, this cult is known for wanting to destroy cities or groups from within. The priest told them that they don't pick their target cities at random so they must have a reason for being in Rivenlock. he also told them that someone in the city must be bankrolling them.
With this new knowledge the group decided to head back to Eodin at Bloodbath and Beyond. Bosh and Diaz sparred some of the other patrons at the shop and both won. After they asked him about some of the power players in the city as to find out who might be bankrolling the crocs operation. Eodrin mentioned the differetn faction in the city including Annabelle Hawthorne and her city guards, the Crocodile Posse, the Southern Ghosts , Hassan the pirate, and the Cassleanter family.
Diaz having some connection with pirates convinced the group to talk to Hassan. They found his ship, the Blood Red Tide, of the docks and one of his crew took them to his estate. Hassan was grateful to Diaz for disposing of Abas, a rival pirate captain, so he offered to help them. He gave them a rundown haunted tavern near the slums, and the craftsman district and advised they lay low for awhile.
The group went to inspect the tavern which had been abandoned for many years. They found a spirit inside and after following it into a cellar they found many piles of bones. They took the bones connected to the spirit to the temple to have them consecrated and the spirit was put to rest.
The spirit gone the group found Cerebor the Forest Elves carpenter, Zaluna the Corvir seamstress, and Richter the human painter. After some bartering the were able to get a god discount on the price for renovations.
The group spent a week preparing for the opening the tavern. Bosh spent all of his time being a Soul Forged bulldozer and demolished the surrounding dilapidated buildings on either side making the area look nicer. Diaz spent his time spreading news of the tavern and creating buzz and Ka'uhane procured some ales and wines to sell.
Opening night came and the Oakwood Tavern opened for business.They had a large crowd and were quite succesful. The next day they hired Bruce the Ahkelivir to manage the tavern while they are away. his first night working they made double the profits from the night before.
The group had just begun to settle into this new lifestyle when an explosion occured on the street outside their tavern early in the morning. The group rushed outside to find the charred corpse of an Aouli and a human. The human had the mark of the cult of Loki. The guards and detectives mentioned that the Aouli was heading for the group's tavern when he was caught in the explosion.
The group decided to try and find out who this Aouli was by heading to the temple...
