Nonian Tradition
The First Gods created Eokin and and the spheres that surround it. They drew lots to determine the homelands of their chosen people. They fought amongst themselves in The Dawn War. The Nine gods of good joined in mutual defense in Nonian Pact against The Seven. The Seven seek to destroy all that is good.
Calendar
The Oresta Calendar originates in the demarcation of Nonian holy days, following the passage of Pelor's sun through the seasons. Every 42-day month turns on a significant Nonian holiday, each of which coincides with an equinox, solstice, or the quarters in between them. The seven days of the week in Common each draw their names from the Elvish and are each sacred to a particular god of The Nine. Avandra and Gruumsh do not have an assigned day of the week. Any day is the Changebringer's day, and until the Reckoning no day belongs to the One-Eyed God. The calendar was used by Empire of the Sun, and it was this influence that spread it across the continent. Today the Orestan Standard Calendar is used by all civilized peoples.Mythology & Lore
