The Three Crown War

The Conflict

Prelude

To finally address the concerns levied by the people of Bearingpool and reconcile their relationship with the rest of the Commonwealth, a political summit was held in a neutral area just north of the contested city. In attendance were many prominent and important figures from the Commonwealth, Colum, and the leader of the newly independent city, Ashley Moztel. The summit was held on Nightal 4th of 1095, and all in attendence were eager to reach some kind of agreement.

Deployment

Ashley Moztel was prepared for the summit to be a trap, only interested in going to appeal to her remaining allies in Colum to rally behind her once the treachery was laid bare for all to see. And she was correct, on the second night of the summit, a fire was started where the Bearingpool delegates were sleeping, forcing them out into the cold where a battalion regiment of the Last Chance Lancers was waiting, led by Ser Ayara Kaiska and Jester Voss the most famous adventurer in the world.   A battle broke out that forced the delegates of Bearingpool to retreat south, back into their city where they could regroup. Many sacrified themselves to ensure Ashley returned to safety.

Battlefield

After the initial assault, The Assembly decided to press further south and commit to a full-scale siege of Bearingpool's walls, intent on piercing through their defenses and ending the conflict succinctly. The siege continued for weeks as the people of the city slowly gathered their strength and prepared. In the meantime, Ashley and her righthand, Jaherys Vyndil, contacted Queen Cassandra to assist them in their hour of need. It took roughly two months for the queen to agree to send aid, and another 4 months for those soldiers to arrive in Huvora  The people of Bearingpool struggled for nearly 10 months while those soldiers marched south, holding just barely on while The Assembly and Last Chance Lancers inched closer to their doorstep. Finally, in the summer of 1096, royal reinforcements arrived, pinching the Commonwealth's troops between two fronts, forcing them to retreat momentarily. For nearly a year, the Commonwealth continued to attempt attacks and strategies to retake Bearingpool, but none proved successful. After nearly two years of campaigning, The Assembly was forced to meet the conditions offered by Ashley Moztel during the original summit, to sever Bearingpool from their territory and allow those people independence at last. In 1097, the war was officially closed as soldiers from all parties returned to their homeland, and the world awoke to the end of Bearingpool and the birth of The Democratic People's Republic of Kelemvor, named for the god of both Ser Veren and Ashley.

Aftermath

In 1098, immediately following the Commonwealth's retreat from its Southeastern region, many smaller-scale revolutions cropped up all around the region, ultimately leading to its dissolution in 1099 and replacement by many smaller states. The Democratic People's Republic of Kelemvor looked south, absorbing all the territory between it and Tiriene, the First Light, now the largest geopolitical entity in the region.
