The Barrows

The ancient barrows of the vale men of the region rest as the haunting power of ancient gods and magic now forgetting but still there. only those who follow old teachings or remember the old ways travel through or too the barrows for unknown reasons with many speculating of necromancy or other dark and devious dealings.

Purpose / Function

The barrows were constructed over the ages to house the dead of the valemen, until the recent rise and fall of the empire did the tradition be lost and all cultural teachings fade into myth and legend.

Architecture

The barrows ar built into the foothills of the Ice Mountains with several ancient fortress still standing watch in their ruined state.

History

It is unknown when the barrows were first started and by who but the valemen continued the tradition for centuries and for a time used the location as a place of defence when fighting The Empire.
