Mina flees into the night and Tia follows after her. When Tia is injured, Mina leaves her to die. Duff intervenes, saving her life at a dire cost.

Mina mysteriously disappears into the night, leaving a trail of slumbering soldiers. Tia spots her and follows after her into the forest but they are pursued. Ben Stahlmann employs deadly force to try and stop them. When Tia is injured, Mina leaves her behind and Tia certainly would have died if not for Duff's intervention. He changes her into a shape shifter to save her life. A mysterious boy finds her in the forest and returns her to the village before the soldiers descend the mountain, crossing paths with Allen.
