Marisport
History
Founded as a colony for House Brightwater in 931. The Island where the town was settled acted as a sheltered bay for merchant ships for more 500 years. Brightwater guessed that there was profit to be made in colonizing the island and funded the settling of the town to attached merchant coin along the eastern coast of Belkar. Over the last 250 years, the small town has gorwn to a common sailers stop, and a frequent stop for travelling coming from across the eastern sea. Though the dominance of Lionstail, a much larger city just a half days sail away, means that most merchants today will skip Marisport. This leads to Brightwater seeing the colony as irrelivant and has led to Marisport being viewed by all as a backwater.
