Amberstone Abby
History
Located approximately 15 km inland (east) of Seafall, Amberstone Abby was originally built as an embassy and trading posts by House Emberforge to continue relationships with the other noble houses of the time. Built in 873, the population of Amberstone was roughly 150 settlers. Most of those sent to Amberstone were of the lower dwarf class with the exception of the ambassador who served as headmaster of the Abby . In 917 when House Aquilar Takes The Royal Title the new sultan declared the Abbys independent. Over the next 150 or so years, contact with Emberforge wained and in 1034 a peasant dwarf from Amberstone was elected to its headmaster role, decidedly removing any noble influence on the Abby.
Today Amberstone has approximately 250 souls insides it walls, and the Abby no longer is exclusively dwarf, with roughly half of the population inside being adopted orphans and wayward travellers looking for a home. The Abby is relatively self sufficient though some trade does occur between the Abby and the neighbouring towns of Seafall and Suncrest.
