House Privett
House Privett is a struggling Jakonian noble house situated along the border with the Kingdom of Columba. They have found themselves in a difficult position as the border between Jakonia and Columba becomes increasingly militarized, with more and more regiments of the Imperial Army deployed to the north. The House has long relied upon cross-border trade and has often maintained very close ties with Columban aristocratic families, with multiple marriages among scions and heirs connecting them to the north. They have kept their loyalty to the imperial throne, barely, often at the threat of military intervention, should they step too far in their friendship with the northerners.
Public Agenda
House Privett is one of the most outspoken houses against centralization of Imperial authority and particularly military endeavors. They have repeatedly advocated for the end of a professional military, claiming that standing armies are a threat to the independence and freedom of the people of Jakonia. One major policy has been attempting to weaken the state apparatus of the old empire, almost to the point of secession threats. They remain aligned with the anti-imperial faction in the nation's governance, and are constantly opposed to anything that could enforce centralization.
Assets
House Privett has access to three levied regiments of their own, which frequently train independently of the Jakonian army, refusing to cooperate or coordinate exercises in favor of their own independence. The house itself is rarely flush with funding, but does maintain their own independent shipping arm, conducting ample trading along the coast of the Circle Sea. The wealth comes from these trades, and many allege that smuggling is the most popular past time of the family, but no charges have been ever made to stick against them or their lords.
