True Resurrection
True Resurrection
9-level Necromancy
Your perform a ceremony to call forth the soul of a dead creature for revival. The target creature must have been dead no longer than 200 years and the creature's soul must be both willing and at liberty to rejoin the body. This spell closes heals all wounds, replaces any missing body parts, cures all diseases, and lifts any curses affecting the creature when it died. The spell can even provide a new body, but you do need to have access to at least some of their remains, even something as small as a finger, or as unrecognizable such as their ashes. This spell neutralizes any poisons but doesn't remove diseases, curses, or non-lethal wounds afflicting the target. If these aren't first removed prior to casting the spell, they take effect when the creature returns to life. The spell can't return an undead creature to life. Up to three creatures (including yourself) can pay tribute to the deceased in the hopes of improving the likelihood of the soul's return. Participating in the Ceremony. Each creature paying tribute makes an Ability Check with a skill deemed appropriate by the GM based on their tribute. A tribute might be anything from kind words, to valuable material offerings. The baseline DC of the Ability Check is 15, but the GM might lower this DC by 5 for a particularly sentimental or valuable tribute. Revival Check At the end of the ceremony, you touch the dead creature and make a special check, rolling a d20 with no Modifier. The baseline DC for this check is 6, but it is modified in the following ways:
- The DC is increased by 1 for each failed tribute Ability Check during the ceremony.
- The DC is increased by 1 for each soul scar the creature has.
- The DC is reduced by 3 for successful tribute Ability Check during the ceremony.
