Diseases
Traveling through muck, or a plague-ridden town can expose you to biological hazards in the form of diseases.
When the GM determines that you've been exposed to a disease, you'll make a Constitution saving throw. The DC of the saving throw varies based on the severity and type of the disease. On a failed save, you become sickened with the disease. Whenever you become sickened with a disease, you start with a number of levels of the condition. This starting sickened level is determined by the severity and type of disease, with certain types of exposure conferring a higher starting sickened level.
While sickened in this way, you might suffer a variety of detrimental effects based on your sickened level. These effects also vary based on the type of disease.
