Drerdogh

When you need to blow off some steam, places like Drerdogh's Pit are a heavensend.

In its earliest days, Drerdogh was little more than a caged pit that the refugees from Eshradell used to blow off steam, keep their profile low. Over time, huts were built around the pit, and then actual houses, and in a short few years, with the simple pit renovated into a proper gladiator's ring, a humble township had formed around its perimeter. The area around the township houses an abundance of rich, dense woods, with trees that create some of the most valuable, vied for wood types.
With such a treasure trove around, it's no surprise that wood makes up the majority of structures in the town. Painted in ashen colors for the walls, and deep crimson hues for the roofs, the population is surrounded by regular reminders of their home's bloody origins.
The economy of Drerdogh is surprisingly prosperous, supported in equal measure by the craftsmanship of their smiths, and the casual gladiator sport that the town's central fixture has encouraged. The wood exports, though, fall just behind the other attractions, but, the carpenters who procure and prepare the stuff are happy and proud of their work.
The Pit, as it's simply known to locals, is easily its main attraction. First built 61 years ago, it was redone in a major way some 18 years later.

Districts

Radiating outward from the Pit at the center of town, the four districts of Drerdogh have a function all their own.
  1. Headclaw District: Residential district occupied by predominantly orcs. Those who have proven their mettle to the orcs are granted permission to settle in this district as well.
  2. The Valley District: The place most outsiders tend to gather, as here there lay an abundance of lodging, from simple inns to rentable huts.
  3. Farstar Market District: Home to craftsmen and merchants of various caliber.
  4. Clearpoint District: Armories and the council's gathering area occupy the bulk of this section, while barracks and smithies take up the rest.

Government

Elder Council: Veterans of the arena govern the locals with what's perceived as fair and just judgement.

Guilds and Factions

While not codified, the people running The Pit do function as a sort of fighter's guild. Earnings from bets and victories alike are handled by the group maintaining the arena.
