Akulian Species in Elmaloris | World Anvil

Akulian

Hailing apparently from the oceans and seas of the world, the Akulian people are a rare sight among the usual rabble. It's unknown where the name "Akulian" comes from, exactly, Hokenian scholars have long noted that it's what they call themselves.
Rumor has it that there's a city of Akulia somewhere in the vast, unexplored seas between Ukrenil and Lasxien. The Akulians on the land, though, neither confirm nor deny this, incidentally fueling the fires of conjecture and rumor as a result.

Amphibious (Ex): Creatures with this special quality have the aquatic subtype, but they can survive indefinitely on land.
Shark Bite: Akulians- sharkfolk- as some call them, are well-known for having ferocious bites. Their razor-sharp, serrated teeth deal 1d6 piercing or slashing damage, and are a primary attack, meaning they use the full Strength modifier.
Intimidating Visage: The mouth full of razor sharp teeth, and piercing gaze give Akulians a +2 racial bonus to Intimidate checks.
Darkvision: 60 ft.
Keen Scent(Ex): Being apparently descended from sharks, Akulians can detect any injured creature by the scent of its blood in a 150-foot radius underwater, or half that distance on land. This distance is doubled if the creature in question is heavily wounded such that the scent of its blood would be stronger. This ability does not work on creatures whose wounds are old enough to have closed, or which bleed some substance other than blood. Additionally, the Akulian can discern whether the blood they smell is fresh or not, but cannot otherwise discern what the blood belongs to unless the creature's blood would for some reason have an abnormal scent.
