Place of the Sun and Moon

Whilst over the years some have thought of this location as a Temple there's nothing to indicate it was ever a place of worship. Known formally as the Place of the Sun and Moon it has for millennia been buried under the sands of The Waste since the whole city was reputedly 'consumed by the desert' during the Great Cleansing of Ellios.
  • The curved dome sides are an enormous mosaic that has stood the test of time remarkably well, while some small fragments have fallen the depicted scenes are clear
  • One side of the dome depicts a pool of silvery water, almost mirror like it is so still encircled by a forest. In the centre of the pool is an island with a small building on it.
  • The other side of the dome depicts six figures, four are clearly male, two female standing in a desert like location of rolling sand dunes. One of the women wears a golden headband that is quite clearly engraved with feather motifs and holds out her hand in front of her. Quite how the artists created the illusion of movement in the sand is difficult to see but it is clear that ahead of her the sand is whipped up into a storm and being flung away from her and the other five figures
  • The sandstorm may have shadowy figures within it but that is hard to tell
  • In the centre of the room is a metal frame that looks as if it may take either the Ime Crystal or Lijawng Crystal
