The Waste

The Waste lies to the far West of Ellios and is an apparently endless desert.
Officially begining as soon as you leave the western gate of Sunom for the first few hundred miles going westward life is hard but manageable beyond that the Waste seemingly devours anything that enters. To the north a small fertile edge to the Waste provides coastal communities like The Pinnacle with a reason to exist.
The nearest city known to Ellios in the Waste is Gulumi, consumed by the desert at the time of the Great Cleansing of Ellios . Up until that point trade had flourished (to a degree) with semi-regular caravans between the two cities.
No one from Ellios is known to have entered and returned from the Waste since the beginning of the AC era, and records about surviving intrepid explorers from before that time have been lost.
