Ekar

Ekar is a species of falcon prevalent around Sunom and areas on the edge of The Waste. They are notoriously suspicious of humanoids as their feathers were prized by both Orc tribes and the lords of Sunom. In the early years after the Great Cleansing of Ellios had ended they were hunted almost to extinction.
Ekar have a smokey blue plummage that can look grey and drab in some lights but in others flickers with a brilliant blue. They are fearless preadators, large specimens can have a wingspan up to 6' and are quite capable of taking lambs and even small deer.
The preferred prey of the Ekar falcon is snake for which they seem to have an unfailing desire to kill and eat.  Ekar have been known to take Ellios' premier snake the Great Yat which grows up 30' in length and can both crush and poison its unlucky meal choice.
