Basilisk

If one would make the mistake of running into the Basilisk, your death would come swiftly. Do not look into its smaller set of eyes, located in the inner corners of its eyes, or your life is forfeit.

An Abomination of Evil's Making...

The Basilisk is not a natural creature created by the Creator, and is in fact, a sad and sorry creature tortured and mutilated by the Undoer himself.
The product of a dragon stolen from The Thundering Court and some experimentation with the genetics (or 'blood', as the people of Eldûra would call it) of a vulture and a cobra, whatever mind and free will has been stripped away, leaving the Basilisk as nothing more than an empty extension of the Undoer's will.
Though it might show some form of intelligence and react emotionally to what it is doing, but those reactions are nothing more than echoes from the Undoer.
Only one man, the last of his kind and profession, is able to stand against it, and their battle has been on-going for the last several hundred years. He has come close to defeating it several times, but every time it manages get away.

Known Abilities of This Creature

• Petrifying Gaze: Lacking pupils in its original eyes, the Basilisk uses them to lure its prey into a false sense of security before it opens its second, and newer set of cobra-like eyes. These eyes are located at the inner corners of its original eyes, and they remain closed until it wishes to unleash the deadliest of its abilities. If someone makes the mistake of looking into its smaller eyes, they will be turned to stone in an instant. It is assumed that those who have fallen prey to its gaze are also killed. But if you manage to not look into those eyes, you will not be turned to stone.
• Flight: Like its dragon breathren, the Basilisk can use its wings to fly in order to pursue its prey.
• Venomous Bite: With the torment and changes inflicted upon it, this creature has lost its ability to breathe and manipulate the element it was born with, and has taken on the venomous bite of the cobra.
