The Queen's Blessing

"No one can do it on their own. How do you expect those in need to pull themselves up if they lack the basic necessities, father? How do you expect anyone to work if they don't have the strength from starvation?" Vivian Steelheart
The queens blessing was established in [year] by Queen Vivian Steelheart months after she took the throne, ignoring objections by nobility and courtiers. The Queens blessing began with 6 wagons, donated by various wood crafters through the kingdom, and grew over time to a total of two hundred wagons under Queen Lillian Steelheart.   The Queen's Blessing wagons travel the kingdom, collecting donations of food, clothing, and supplies for the poor. Anyone is able to take from the cart in order to survive. Those who donate are given a tax break, which has encouraged nobility and commoner alike to contribute to the cause.   The relief the Queen's Blessing provides is aimed at helping others get back on their feet to become contributing members of society again. There are many success stories thanks to the aid of the Blessings, but there are still those who oppose it, claiming that it makes commoners lazy, claiming they take more than they need, and pushing the agenda that it makes the poor reliant on the wagons. "Who would work if they were freely fed?" Despite the backlash over it, the queens of the nation have kept the tradition alive with the backing of the king, each queen adding her own wagons and contributions to grow and improve the fleet.

Propulsion

Each wagon is pulled by two sturdy draft horses bred specially for the task. Only the best are selected for the Blessing, the rest sold at a much higher price or used for war horses.
