Erwon Silversong's Expedition Log

"Remember when we were little and we would log what we saw on trips outside of the castle? Let's do that on this expedition! Mother would love to read it when we get home!" - James Steelheart

A leather bound notebook with paper pages and a thong of leather to tie it shut. It smells of lavender and sage, kept in pristine condition. The pages within are inked in a delicate and flowing script.

Purpose

This expedition log began following the deployment of the Steel Fang to the new world. Within it, Erwon Silversong began documenting the expedition's travel, sights, and discoveries. Several pages are dedicated to the unusual flora and fauna present upon Berdea with pressings of plants or sketches of animals, tracks, or landmarks. Conditions of his charge, James Alexander Steelheart, are also documented inside with several passages written in code.

Erwon Silversong's Expedition Log

Day 1 to I have lost count - Nothing but water. Lots of water. James slipped on a puddle and embarrassed himself in front of the crew after he's been trying to learn from them for so long. I teased him for wetting his pants. Did not take it well. 
Day 23? - As we approached the harbor built by our predecessors, I spotted a large dead snake on the shore, rotting like a fish. I created an illusion with my magic as a joke. The force was not amused. James, however, was greatly amused. I expect he may try to one up me, but I'd like to see him top that.
Day 24 - 26 - A two day trip to a fort in the plains with no trail to speak of. The ride was bumpy in the wagon and difficult to nap. I have found several odd plants that look similar to some back home, others that look quite different. I have taken samples for the nerd. He should enjoy studying these.
