Order of the Raven

The main faction of religious followers of the The Raven Queen from Shadowfell . Based in Naham, City of Bells but has been slowly spreading influence throughout Amaron

Structure

Roles of the Raven Order Function
Eyes Prophets of the Order, members make up the Eyes of the Raven organization and lead the entire order with their connection to The Raven Queen. Keep their identities secret, even from each other.
Claws Main militia, cover everything from small squads of infantry for skirmishes, to guards throughout the city.
Wings Travellers of the Order that have the goal of spreading the good faith of The Raven Queen throughout faraway lands.
Heart Leaders within the settlements the Order is set up in. Lead ceremonies and watch over religious sites as temple clerics. Also organize and watch over standards such as food production and distribution, and building.
Blood Lower members of the Order, make up the basic acolytes and citizens of Naham, City of Bells. Also contains members that are still in training for a higher role.
Feathers Researchers and scribes of the Order. Very focused on The Raven Queens teachings and studying Shadowfell and connections to the mortal realm.

Culture

Members are extremely religious and virtuous in relation to their culture. Culture in Naham, City of Bells is very strict, demanding all citizens wear mainly black clothes and must have their specific pin on them at all times. There are exceptions for short term visitors. Any disrespect for the dead results in immediate execution after investigation.

Public Agenda

Spread the faith of The Raven Queen and her message to respect their dead, that they are never truly gone and should be respected in kind. Also looking for a way to restore their goddess to her rightful place in the pantheon.

History

The Order first started during the Era of Conflict in Amaron. Whilst the two main nations of this land were in constant strife with each other, the Water Nation and the Earth Nation, disgruntled people from both came together upon finding a hidden cache of Shadow Weapons and established the Order separately to the wars around them.

Tenets of Faith

Must respect the dead at all costs.

Worship

Worshippers must wear as much black clothing as possible to show their faith. Unnecessary conflicts of both physical and verbal types are looked upon as detrimental to the worship of The Raven Queen.  When waking up, it is custom to pray to The Raven Queen whilst on one knee. A prayer uttered beneath your breath is also custom when a bell tolls in Naham, City of Bells .

Priesthood

Showing full devotement towards The Raven Queen and efforts to save her from Shadowfell distinguish members from the Order.

Granted Divine Powers

It is believed that through The Raven Queens efforts from Shadowfell, many Aasimar are born in Naham, City of Bells and thus, within the Order. They are often found as children of particularly devoted parents and are filled with shadowy energy and power.

Sects

There have been sects of the Order that have gone rogue, attempting to use their connection to the goddess of death to bring back close ones that have passed away or to try and protect themselves from death. These rogue sects are looked upon with contempt by the main order and extinguished as soon as the order is capable.
