Scorpion Company
The Scorpion Company is a special forces unit within the dark elf defense force. They are all selected from separate branches of the military based on their possessed skillset, and how those skills empower the others of the company. The unit consists of twelve members, each proficient in multiple forms of combat, having received weapon training with all forms of weaponry, and proficient in the use of magic at least to a level of necessary utility, while at least three members are proficient with magic of much higher ability.
It is the responsibility of the unit to embark on high stakes reconnaissance missions, high value target assassinations, and missions of high security risk against the dark elf nation. These missions are sorted by order of importance, and the unit is briefed on each task as it approaches. They will confer the with military security council to determine which is the most immediate need, and handle missions in that order.
It is not uncommon for the unit to be split into multiple groups to handle multiple missions at a time, depending on the needs for each individual mission. An assassination mission may be the responsibility of a few of the soldiers who excel in stealth, while a reconnaissance mission may be the responsibility of the members who excel at long distance scrying magic, or someone who can get into an area undetected to gain the information before slipping out unseen.
At times, it may be of need to have Scorpion Company engage an enemy directly if the need is great enough. Direct threats to a city, or its citizens may warrant a response from the military for general defense, while Scorpion Company is dispatched closer to the target to handle the threat immediately.
Because Scorpion Company is an ever-changing unit, having members replaced upon their death, or retirement, no single person is known by their real name. Instead, each is given a call name to respond to. This allows them to hide their identities from enemies and threats. This has allowed members of Scorpion Company to remain anonymous throughout its time in operation.
