Hanholm Castle
Constructed upon a large hill, the castle was the first foundation of the settlement of Fenfield. First set up as a defensive structure to protect Port Prine as well as the surrounding fertile lands from the invasion of foreign forces, such as the hobgoblins. It soon became an administrative building, which spurred the creation of Fenfield as a settlement.
The district overlooks the entirety of Fenfield.
The Castle is the area where the Marquis and his family reside, alongside other servants, and where important members of the government meet in gatherings to discuss matters pertinent to the day-to-day management of Fenfield. While not as impressive, nor comparable in scale to the castle within the Crown District, it is still a monumental piece of architecture meant to withstand an invasion and hold out for at least a year in the case of an extended siege. Fortunately, since the defeat of the hobgoblins, it is unlikely that such an event will transpire.
Currently it holds the most important people in the city, as well as a sizeable military force. The craftsmen who reside within the walls are considered the very best of their craft. Soldiers often are recognized veterans or family of such. With many more such people who have proven themselves. Most of the people have a long history with the city and show loyalty to the ruling Marquis and his family.
