Legend of the Lifeblood Grimoire

Summary

The Legend of the Lifeblood Grimoire is about a book that Gifted the first magic user with his abilities, and if found would be able to do the same for chosen normal humans, like the friends and family of magic users. With it Gifted people would outnumber those that wish to oppress them. It is also rumored to have knowledge to help Gifted people have better power and control over their abilities. Most rumors and scraps of stories going back centuries have the location of its hiding place to be primarily up north. It has up until around a decade ago been a mostly baseless tale used to inspire hope of a better future. Fairly recent discovers combined with the increasing numbers to The Gifted organization have led to more concrete evidence in favor of it being a real item.

Historical Basis

The first written known piece about the Lifeblood Grimoire was a short story was found detailing the book's uses by a relative that in turn gave the bloodline a chance to have Gifts too. Even then the book was never mentioned as being seen, only second hand accounts. It also was not given a name. Discovered nearly 2 centuries ago it was regarded as fiction until the sudden increase in Gifted people starting about 50 years ago. This led to a secret popularity in this story being told from Gifted person to Gifted person and the start of oral rumors of its power. Since then Gifted people have been looking for texts with any mention of this book. It has been a slow going process since the magic users have not wanted opposing forces to learn about it potential existence. Recently a journal from a man was discovered detailing in part his gaining of Gifts from a unnamed book. The process involved giving blood to the book in exchange for the Gifts and knowledge of spoken abilities. This was the first time it was coined the Lifeblood Grimoire.
