We brought back 12 more today. Silas said we are going to have to find more supplies soon. I worry about the children, they don't get to go outside as much as I would like. I wonder if Stergios can build a path farther up the mountain.Roman's dead. Spear to the chest. He was dead before he hit the ground. I can fix alot of things but I can't undo death.
Purpose / Function
The mines original purpose was to mine fire stone for forges,fireplaces,ovens and anything else that needs fire resistant brick.
Alterations
The Gifted have turned the mines into their base. Their rooms carved out for living spaces, a kitchen, baths, toilets. The based is hidden by a door made up of a false boarded up entrance.
Architecture
Most of the external buildings are made of stone and wood from the surrounding area.
History
The mining company running the mine was created by two brothers, Antonios and Sakis.
It ran for 4 years before it experienced tragedy. A harsh winter followed by a rapidly warming spring led to shifting in the mine, causing one tunnel to hit a flood of ground water, washing out the supports and collapse the whole section. After 3 weeks of rescue attempts, leading to further collapses, efforts were ended leaving a total of 25 dead and 17 injured, including Sakis, whose leg was shattered until rubble.
Following the collapse, the mining project was deemed too unstable and the company eventually moved its operation farther north, leaving the whole camp abandoned.
The Gifted discovered this mine when one of their rescues led to a man arrested for saving himself with his unregistered abilities as the mine collapsed.
Using his Gifts and the Gifts of others they were able to repurpose the mines into a hideout.
