Wish Burial

The Wish Burial is an old tradition amongst the Gazeranfolk, where people would bury a personally carved statuette made out of Aquamalith to bless their place. Nowadays, this tradition has gone out of style, despite its undeniable positive effects.

Elements and Effect

While the Gazeranfolk are following a nomadic lifestyle, they usually revisit the same campsites over the course of a few years. For this reason, the people would leave blessings on the sites to protect the area and make it thrive.   During travels, people would carve statuetts out of small Aquamalith stones that would be washed on the shores of the many lakes and rivers in Copperwynn. When they arrive at their home for the next months, this statuette would be burried below their new home, embuing it with the best whishes for the house, the community and the area around them.   Upon returning to a previous site, the existing statuette will be dug up, cleaned and thanked for their blessing. After, the statuette will be placed back into to ground with new whishes.

Leaving the tradition behind

Since the way of life of the Gazeranfolk have changed significantly, especially after the Shaman's Doomed Insurgence, this tradition has gone out of style and is considered old-fashioned.   As the Aquamalith has become a highly sought after material by the opressing administration of Gunnard's Greens, people rarely spend time to use these gems for carving.   Additionally, the forced labor in the fields restricts the originally nomadic lifestyle, making the revisiting and new wishes for an area obsolete. Below most Gazeran dwellings, old statuettes are still burried, contributing to the fertility and well-being of the occupants. However, the existence of these buried statuettes is mostly forgotten.
