Shazir

A male yuan-ti and former first mate aboard the Holy Boater. While only first mate for less than a year, Shazir proved his worth raising the morale of the crew and valiantly fighting in every major raid against Sardivelian vessels throughout the Karaga Sea. Over the course of the summer of 924 he started falling in love with the ship's surgeon Muireann, and he agreed to become captain of Muireann's new ship the Isle of Respite later that same year.

Personal history

Shazir grew up in the Thueban region of the Campanel Desert, leaving behind his toxic upbringing to seek freedom and glory out at sea. His ship was raided by the Holy Boaters in late 923, but he impressed Cpt. Dolooloobogg and the rest of the crew enough to be spared and recruited as the ship's new first mate. 
During Shazir's year aboard the Holy Boater he participated in multiple raids, defeating giant beasts like the sahuagadile and making quick work of Sardivelian ship captains like Donatella Frogerto Froggellini. He kept crew morale high after storms and accidents, being the one to deliver bad news to crew members fired from the ship like Knuckles. With Sarek's help he commanded an intimidating presence on every ship he boarded, and in his free time he courted Muireann with tender conversations and dates at various ports throughout Pescaliat.
