House Ottonian
A family of drow skilled in abjuration magics and defense in the Verschow region of Rakka. House Ottonian's strength comes from its refusal to ever take leadership of the region's disparate factions. Rather, the Ottonians sell their abjuration spells to the highest bidders, acting as bodyguards to whichever family becomes the ruling faction in the Verschow. They're a valuable ally to have, but one must be careful to pay them well or lose their support at the most dire hour.
In the summer of 900 a controversial marriage was arranged between Johan-Ringo Ottonian and Yvonne Hainaut, whose family was at the time out of power in the Verschow. It was rare for House Ottonian to agree to marriages with the other major families of Dromire, but the marriage turned out to be a lucrative gamble after the Hainaut family took control of Vershovian politics in a coup the following year.
