History
Saldim began as an encampment of scholars and historians studying the ruins of Toroghend in EC 4478. It grew into a small village when the scholars discovered some valuable artifacts and word spread of the fertile land sitting near the ruins. During the Great Shadow, the ruins were a relatively safe place where several people waited out the catastrophe. Saldim began to gain prominence in EL 257 when its small force of guards defeated a tribe of barbarians attempting to pillage and invade its population of about 2000. It has grown steadily in the centuries since.
